Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to a call about theft of gas from UDF in Lawrenceburg at around 12:07 a.m. Tuesday, July 16. Upon arrival officers were given a description of the suspect vehicle, a red Jeep Wrangler.

A witness observed the theft and followed the suspect vehicle into Aurora before losing sight of it. Officers from multiple agencies set up a perimeter and searched for the two suspects. They were described as while males in their late teens/early 20s, thin build, and one was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and khaki shorts.

At one point the officers made contact with the suspects, but they were able to evade officers. The Jeep they had been traveling in was recovered. It was also confirmed to have been stolen from Fairfield, Ohio, and had license plates on it that had been stolen from Fairfield as well.
