The auditorium was so quiet, you could almost hear a pin drop.
But you might hear a little more noise if a decision is made to change the area code in Southeastern Indiana.
Only three people attended a public hearing scheduled by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission Thursday, May
The hearing in St. Leon was the ninth of 10 with previous hearings taking place in Terre Haute, Bloomington, Jeffersonville, Evansville, Vincennes, French Lick, St. Meinrad, and North Vernon. A final hearing was scheduled for Monday, May 6, in Bedford.
“Turn out has been disappointing,” said Anthony Swinger, Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor.
