A woman and two children were injured Thursday, July 11, when a vehicle wrecked into a building in Greendale, said Greendale Police Sgt. Kevin Turner.
Greendale police, fire and emergency medical responders were dispatched at 4:12 p.m. to MGP (formerly Seagram's Distillery) for an auto accident with injuries, said Turner. Arriving responders found a silver 2000 Nissan Maxima driven wrecked into and onto the steps leading up to the MGP business office.
Driver Samantha Ashcraft, 29, Lawrenceburg, and two children, a boy, 9, and a girl, 6, were taken by Greendale Emergency Medical Service to Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, said Turner. They were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released.
Ashcraft was arrested for operating while intoxicated endangering, a Class A Misdemeanor, operating while intoxicated with a passenger less than 18 years old, a Class D Felony, and two counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury, a Class C Felony, said Turner. All charges are merely an accusation of guilt and those charged considered innocent until and if proven guilty.
Turner is investigating the accident and the case, he said. Also assisting him at the scene were Greendale Police Sgt. Kendle Davis and Officer Scott Spinnati; Lawrenceburg Police Lt. Brian Miller and Officer Roger Houston; and Hardintown Towing.
