LAWRENCEBURG – Life seems to have been a whirlwind of late for new Lawrenceburg High School boys varsity basketball coach John Blackwell.

Two weeks ago, the 30-year old LHS alum (class of 2000) and wife Nicole (Skidmore) welcomed their first child into the world – Lucas Stephen, born in Indianapolis at nine pounds, 13 ounces.

Monday night, the Notre Dame graduate and former Indiana State University director of basketball operations (2010-11 season), was approved by a 7-0 vote of the Lawrenceburg school board to succeed his former coach, Mike Pratt.
