After hiring a new athletic director and boys varsity basketball coach, Lawrenceburg School Corporation board also discussed the school corporation’s weapons policy and its policy on lunch “charges.”

School board member Pat Myers said he thinks the weapon policy is a “little loose,” and the corporation should look at a zero tolerance policy instead, with students who bring a weapon to school getting an automatic expulsion/suspension.

While some school corporations do have zero tolerance policies, it can also handcuff a school, said Superintendent Karl Galey.
