INDIANAPOLIS – Mandi McQueen doubled and scored the only run in Northern Kentucky University’s 1-0 women’s softball NCAA Division II Midwest Regional first round win over Illinois Springfield Friday.

When the dust settled Sunday, No. 5 seed NKU (39-19) had advanced all the way to the D-II Sweet 16, ticketed to take on St. Joseph’s (Ind.) in this coming weekend’s Midwest Super Regional in Louisville, Ky.
