The Greendale Plan Commission has cleared the way for construction of a new facility for Bed Techs, a company that reconditions Hill-Rom hospital beds for resale.

The commission OK’d Bed Techs’ landscaping and form and color plans at the Monday, May 21, meeting.

The plant will include a 65,000 square foot warehouse and 30,000 square feet of office space on Minger Drive, and will consolidate the 10 year old company’s three current locations. The lot includes room for a future 39,600-foot addition.

Approval of the plan sparked a discussion about making possible changes to the present tree planting requirements for new construction.
