Supreme Court decision could affect Conley appeal

Update: How will the United States Supreme Court ruling Monday, June 25, affected teenage murderer Andrew Conley's appeal to the Indiana Court of Appeals?

The court's limited 5-4 ruling said states' mandatory sentences of life in prison without parole for juveniles convicted of murder are unconstitutional. It was considering the sentences of two 14-year-old juveniles convicted of murder, one from Alabama, the other from Arkansas.

But Indiana does not have such a mandatory sentence, said Conley's appeals attorney Leanna Weissmann, Aurora.
