The weather was hot. Very hot. So the crowd was not quite as large for the annual Aurora Firecracker Festival Prince and Princess contest Saturday, June 30, at Lesko Park.

But for anyone who missed the contest, you also missed a special family moment.

Twenty years after Greendale resident Ryan Johnson was named the first prince of the festival, his son, Corbin, was crowned the 2012 Aurora Firecracker Festival Prince.
