On Friday, July 6, eight days after his 26th birthday, Brian Woeste was before Dearborn-Ohio Circuit Court Judge James Humphrey in Ohio County Circuit Court where the judge entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf on charges of murder, battery resulting in death and two counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in death. Woeste, unemployed since January, sat while members of his family listened to the charges read by Humphrey accusing him of the death of 1-year-old Nolan Helfrich who was pronounced dead at 1:03 p.m. on Jan. 20 but remained on life support until his organs were harvested.
