For the first time, 2012 will mark the collaboration of
the Indiana Governor’s Conference on Service and Volunteerism and the
Indiana Nonprofit Capacity Building Conference, which are joining forces
to create a better experience for nonprofits and faith-based
organizations in Indiana. The 2012 Governor’s Conference on Service and Nonprofit Capacity
Building will bring together leaders in the nonprofit sector, volunteer
coordinators and innovative thinkers to explore best practices, receive
meaningful training, establish fruitful partnerships, and celebrate
success stories. Registration for the 2012 Governor’s Conference is now open online. This
inaugural conference, to be held Oct. 2, at the Marten House in
Indianapolis, is presented by the Indiana Office of Faith-Based and
Community Initiatives and the SAVI Community Information System. Goals for the conference include building capacity of nonprofit, faith-based, and community-based organizations in Indiana to: *Be more effective at planning, decision making, program management, fundraising, and governance The conference also will try provide a forum for engaging in meaningful
dialogue, exchanging best practices, networking and forming partnerships
