BROOKVILLE – The third annual Lakeside 5K Run & Walk marks race No. 2 in the 2012 Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit series Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Starting and finishing at Franklin County High School, with a run across the Brookville Lake Dam and back in between, the event is a fund-raiser for the FCHS cross country teams.

Both male and female records for the 5K run (3.1 mile) course were set a year ago, by Batesville’s Hayden Merkel (16:28) and Kim Noble (19:44).

Race day entry fee is $20 with an official race t-shirt, (while supplies last) or $15 without the t-shirt. Check-in and registration will be available from 7-8:15 a.m.

Awards will be given to the overall male and female 5K run winners, plus the top three finishers in each age group for both genders: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 65-69 and 70 & over.

Overall male and female 5K Walk winners will be awarded, along with the top finishers in each age group: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50 & over.
