ST. LEON – Facing a season that seemed destined to spin out of control before it even started, East Central baseball found enough young arms to finish 17-10. Expected their top two senior left-handed pitchers back, coach Bob Reynolds' Trojans ended up with just Cory Spencer, who was only able to DH because of a shoulder injury. “We relied pretty heavily on two sophomore pitchers and a freshman, along with two juniors,” said the 10th-year Trojan mentor. “When you play kids that young on varsity, there's always some good and bad.” To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
