| Water service proposal does not connect with city officials |

Engineers for Cleves, Ohio, have proposed a water service interconnect between their lines and those of Greendale at the Ohio-Indiana line. Representatives of Brandstetter-Carroll attended the Tuesday, July 11, Greendale board of works meeting to explain that Cleves is currently planning to expand its service to the Elizabethtown, Ohio, area and would like to be able to provide water to residents of Hidden Valley Lake and possibly other areas in Indiana. Greendale officials were somewhat surprised by the offer, since, as city manager and utility director Steve Lampert explained, they are in the first few years of a 30-year exclusive contract to serve HVL.
