LAWRENCEBURG – Lawrenceburg baseball notched its 11th consecutive winning season under head coach Joe Vogelgesang in 2012 – extending a run of 13-straight winners.

What no one expected came midway through the Tigers' 20-10 campaign, when Vogelgesang was approved for the LHS athletic director job, surrendering future coaching duties in the process.

“I'm sure I'll miss coaching,” said the 41-year old administrator, a corporation employee for 14 years, who took over his new position officially July 1. “Instead of just being involved in 2-3 different sports (Vogelgesang also has coached football and basketball), I'm involved with all of them now. It's a little different trying to schedule 22 sports.”
