| Utility board looks at former driving range use, garbage fees |

A former driving range in Aurora's well field area, billing for part of the cost of garbage collection, and offering payment plans to utility customers behind on bills all were discussed at Aurora's July utility board meeting. “First and foremost, that is our water supply,” said Aurora Attorney Jeff Stratman, referring to the former driving range. Should the city need to drill a well there, other usage would take a backseat. The former driving range is located in Lawrenceburg on the east side of U.S. 50 just beyond Aurora city limits. Aurora Councilman Joe Milish indicated he would like it used for Babe Ruth baseball, with the organization putting its own money in preparing the site. “We just want a place to play baseball,” he said.
