LAWRENCEBURG – A last-minute entry, the Virginia Tech team won the National Guard FLW College Fishing Northern Conference event on the Ohio River at Tanner's Creek Saturday.

Andrew Jackson and Patrick Snellings from Virginia Tech earned $5,000 with a total of five bass weighing seven pounds, four ounces. The win also advanced them to the Northern Conference Championship.
