LAWRENCEBURG – The beat went on for Lawrenceburg girls soccer, a 9-0 winner over Switzerland County in its season opener Tuesday night. Reaching the Class A semistate for the first time in 2011, while sweeping to an unbeaten Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference title (10-0), coach Bill Offutt's deep and talented team finished 17-1-2, ranked No. 3 in the state. They looked every bit as good in Tuesday's 2012 opener at home, taking a 3-0 halftime lead en route to a second-half eruption, led by a three-goal hat trick from junior forward Haley Lowe. She was Lawrenceburg's leading scorer a year ago, with nine goals, six assists, before being lost after 11 games with a broken collarbone.
