ST. LEON – After splitting the conference title three ways in 2011, East Central volleyball was determined to not to share with seven seniors returning this fall. That's exactly what the Lady Trojans did, going 25-8 – and a perfect 10-0 in Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference play – despite a change in head coaches from Larry Ehler to young Dana Heileman, former head coach at Finneytown High in Cincinnati and more recently an assistant at Harrison, Ohio. “We met a lot of the goals we had set for ourselves,” said Heileman. “There were definitely a lot of firsts this year – first in the conference, our first Southport Invitational championship and our first win ever over Ben Davis (at the Giants' invite Sept. 15 in Indy).” To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
