Despite Monday, Nov. 12, being the holiday for Veterans Day Sunday, Nov. 11, Dillsboro Town Council will meet at 6:30 p.m., said Dillsboro Town Manager Scott Fortner.

The town's new K-9 probably will attend, said Fortner.

“The community has come through as far as the funding. The dog has been purchased and Josh (Dillsboro Police Officer Josh Cady) is actually training with it this week,” said Fortner. After the week's training in Louisville, Ky., Cady will bring the dog home with him Friday, Nov. 9.
