Historic preservation is a matter of community, which Seth Elder came to realize in Macedonia, he said. Elder, director of Indiana Landmarks Southeast Field Office, Aurora, grew up in Rising Sun, he told those attending Main Street Aurora's annual meeting Thursday evening, Nov. 15. His childhood memories are of the riverboat casino coming to the area, and a period of revitalization, with old buildings being restored, he said. “I think at some point, the Ohio County Historical Museum flew in an Italian expert to dust off a two-headed cow,” said Elder, to several laughs.To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
