UPDATE: U.S. 50 was expected to re-open to through traffic at about 11 a.m.

A fire called in by a store employee at 8:13 a.m. this morning, Thursday, Nov. 29, was still ablaze at 10:25 a.m., according to Dearborn County 911 Dispatcher Jared Teaney.

The fire started in the Hope's Light Thrift Store, 1099 West Eads Parkway, U.S. 50, Lawrenceburg, he said. The store is in the JTS Plaza.

U.S. 50 was closed “pretty much from the get go,” said Teaney. Traffic is being rerouted on Ind. 48 and Ind. 148.

Lawrenceburg and Aurora fire departments were dispatched immediately, soon to be joined by Greendale Fire Department and Boone County, Ky., and Hamilton County, Ohio, units, said Teaney.
