East
Indiana Area Health Education Center is offering a mini-grant
opportunity. The organization will offer reimbursement grants with a
maximum request of $1,500. Eligible programs will demonstrate a
need and ability to support the health workforce in EI AHEC’s 14 county
service area: Bartholomew, Dearborn, Decatur, Fayette, Franklin, Henry,
Jennings, Jefferson, Ohio, Ripley, Rush, Switzerland, Union, and Wayne
counties. East Indiana AHEC, along with the Indiana AHEC network,
promotes “growing our own” health care professionals. Research shows
that people most likely to serve as health care providers in a certain
community are either from that community or have trained in that
community. For this reason, ideal grant applications will promote
interest in health careers for local K-12 students, support local
clinical training opportunities for health professions students, or
support continuing education for health professionals in our area. The
application deadline is Dec. 31. Awards will be announced Jan. 31.
Applications are available on the organization’s website at
www.eiahec.org. For additional information contact Rhonda Savage, Executive Director, Rhonda.savage@eiahec.org or 1-812-212-3210. |
