State Representative Jud McMillin, R-Brookville, was recently presented with the Conservative Award by the American Conservative Union in Indianapolis. He was one of 38 recipients from the Indiana House of Representatives to accept the award.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award because it symbolizes principles I believe in; living within our means, balancing the budget, remaining fiscally responsible, eliminating wasteful spending and improving our education system,” said McMillin.

Members of the House were evaluated based on legislation they supported during the 2011 and 2012 legislative sessions. The award was presented to members that supported at least 80 percent of bills selected by the ACU that pertained to fiscal responsibility, education reform, limiting the role of government and eliminating wasteful spending.
