If Aurora City Council confirms what its members voiced at the Aurora Utility Board meeting Monday, Dec. 3, city residents will pay $5 per month for trash service in 2013.

The utility board, which consists of council members, discussed the proposed garbage pickup fee at length, with additional comments voiced by a half dozen folks attending. The consensus to charge $5 was not a formal decision, however; that likely will come at the city council meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, in city hall, Third and Main streets.

The $5 would cover a little over half of the $9 per unit the city will pay Best Way per month beginning in 2013.
