ST. LEON – East Central head football coach Tim Behlmer waited until after the team's 2012 awards banquet Thursday night to so as not to upstage his player. In typical low-key fashion, the lifelong Trojan – captain of EC's first football team when the consolidation opened in 1973 – quietly turned in his coaching resignation to athletics director Don Stonefield. “I'm done,” said the 57-year old Logan Township native, who was elevated to East Central head coach for the second time in his long career (2000-02 and 2011-12) two years ago, when Stonefield moved into the AD position. “Stick a fork in me. It's a young man's game and I've been at this for 34 years now (as Sunman-Dearborn School Corporation teacher and coach).
