ST. LEON – It wasn't an artful display of basketball skill, but it was good enough for East Central girls basketball to climb into the conference driver's seat.

Overcoming their own poor shooting (17-55, 30 percent) and 23 turnovers – in a game that saw both teams combine for a whopping 56 miscues – Lady Trojans defeated top Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference contender Batesville 46-31 Thursday night.

Coach Kevin Moore's EC girls varsity inproved its season mark to 7-1 while keeping its unblemished EIAC mark intact at 4-0. Matt Maple's Batesville crew fell to 6-3 (2-1 EIAC).
