BATESVILLE – It can only improve from here for Lawrenceburg boys basketball. After Friday’s 62-24 shutdown loss at Batesville, coach John Blackwell’s Tigers (1-2, 0-2 EIAC) would seem to have nowhere to go but up. They’ll get that chance immediately when they host East Central (1-3, 1-1 Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference) tonight in the more friendly confines of Bud Bateman Gym. Hopefully, LHS won’t be too traumatized from the beatdown administered by Batesville (3-1, 2-1), which came within an eyelash of knocking off No. 1-ranked EIAC leader Greensburg in its previous outing six days earlier, 58-56. It was all coach Aaron Garrett’s Bulldogs Friday at the Dog Pound, as the hosts held Lawrenceburg to single-digit scoring in every quarters, including a nightmare eight-point first half total that consisted of four points in each of the first two periods.
