INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana’s high school football playoff expansion for 2013 and beyond resulted in approval of format recommendations for the 5A and new 6A classes Tuesday. In its regular monthly meeting, Indiana High School Athletic Association’s executive committee approved the creation of eight four-team sectionals in each of the state’s two largest-enrollment football class divisions. A bye week for the two teams competing in both the 5A and 6A state championship games also will replace the traditional semistate week, which will continue in each of the remaining classes, A through 4A.
