RISING SUN – Pairings draw for the 2013 River Town Classic high school basketball tournaments was completed Wednesday during the pre-tourney meeting at The Courtyard restaurant.

South Dearborn High School again will host the four-team boys and girls holiday tournaments, which reflect local sectional rivalries from the traditional single-class state tournament era.

Girls Classic opens Wednesday night, Jan. 2, with Rising Sun vs. Lawrenceburg in game one at 6 p.m.. Switzerland County takes on SD's defending champion Lady Knights in game two at approximately 8 p.m.

River Town Classic boys first round mirrors those pairings Thursday, Jan. 3. Defending champion Lawrenceburg meets Rising Sun's Shiners in the 6 p.m. opener, with Switzerland County's Pacers vs. SD at 8 p.m.

Boys and girls consolation finals will be Friday night, Jan. 4, at 6 and 8:30 p.m. Cheerleader competition will be held between games Friday.

River Town championship games are Saturday, Jan., 5, also at 6 and 8:30.

Junior varsity River Town Classic first round games will be played a two sites starting with girls games at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Rising Sun girls and boys reserve squads will play at Lawrenceburg, with South Dearborn girls and boys at Switzerland County.

Jayvee Classic finals will be Saturday morning, Jan. 5, at a site to be determined. Girls final tips off at 10 a.m., with the boys at 11:30 a.m.

Single session tickets are $5, with full tournament tickets $10 for both students and adults. Pre-school children will be admitted free. There will be no reserved seating.

South Dearborn High School is a smoke-free campus.
