AURORA – After gritting teeth as East Central’s buzzer shot to win it rimmed out in last Saturday’s 65-63 squeaker at home, Batesville boys basketball made darn sure Tuesday. Coach Aaron Garrett’s Bulldogs, now 5-1 overall and 4-1 (second place) midway through the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference schedule, outscored host South Dearborn in a 20-5 first quarter to key a 75-39 romp. SD’s Knights (2-6, 1-3 EIAC) saw their modest two-game winning streak come crashing down in a big way. “Everything we accomplished last Friday (65-60 win vs. 4-0 Switzerland County) went right out the window,” SD coach Rick Shumate said. “We played scared and were just physically manhandled.
