|Package theft ends with meth lab bust|

A Fairway Drive, Miller Township, couple is facing charges of dealing in methamphetamine, a class B felony, and two counts of neglect of a dependant with more charges pending after an investigation began regarding an allegedly stolen package.
Another woman also was arrested on a prior warrant for fraud on a financial institution, see the story in The Journal-Press Tuesday, Dec. 18.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Ziegler in an affidavit of probable cause notes the investigation into Kelly Mayer and Kevin MacKenzie began with Deputy Jason Wyatt investigating the attempted theft of a parcel from State Line Road.
A woman told police her mother called and told her a package was going to be dropped off, a while later the woman’s mother said someone was taking the package off the porch.
The woman, who works across the street from her house, left work and confronted the person taking the package.
