Aurora will change garbage collection service from Rumpke to Best Way Disposal beginning Tuesday, Jan. 1, said Aurora City Attorney Jeff Stratman.

All garbage pickup for the entire city will be on Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 2, he said. This is a change for some areas downtown where pickup had been twice weekly, and for some residents whose garbage was picked up on Fridays.

Best Way will pick up any “reasonable” number of cans set out, plus one large item per week as long as the driver can pick it up and fit it into the truck, said Stratman. This does NOT include appliances with CFCs, such as air conditioners or refrigerators.
