William Robinson

Pastor William J. Robinson, age 72, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Ky., following a long illness.

He was born May 25, 1940 in Buffalo, N.Y., to James Robinson and Mary J. Ryan Robinson. In 1960 he was married to Janet Julien, and they were blessed with 3 children; Robert, Catherine, and Cynthia. From 1962 to 1964 Bill served his country during the Viet Nam Conflict in the US Army.

Bill and Janet were true servants of the Lord, and in 1967 they started First Apostolic Bible Church in Lawrenceburg. Bill was employed at Cincinnati Post for 26 years as a Journalist. He was also a special correspondent for People Magazine and Life Magazine. He was employed as a Reporter for the Lawrenceburg Register for several years before retiring in 2012. Bill also wrote a special column in the 50 plus magazine in the religious section. He was a wonderful Christian man who was the most unjudgemental person you would ever meet.

Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Janet Julien Robinson; his son, Robert (Leigh A.) Robinson, of Louisville, Ky.; 2 daughters, Catherine (Andrew) Pickett, of Lawrenceburg; and Cynthia Chappell, of Fairfield, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, David, Dennis, Elizabeth, Jordon, McKenzie, Cooper, Jessica, Chase, Jacob, and Nicolas; 4 great grandchildren, Andrew, Gracie, Aubrey, and Patience, with two more on the way.

A service of Jubilation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at First Apostolic Bible Church located at the corner of Elm and Center Streets in Lawrenceburg. The service will begin at 1 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Bishop Paul Skaggs will be leading the service, and interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. The family would appreciate memorials go to the family for medical expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
