Young Voices is hosting open audition dates for the 2013 Spring Semester from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, and Monday, Jan. 21, in the Lawrenceburg High School chorus room.

Audition appointments are strongly encouraged; walk-in singers will be scheduled into the earliest available audition time.

The “no stress” placement auditions consist of the singer spending 5 to 10 minutes with the Creative Director to assess the singer’s vocal range, skill and maturity. Singers do not need to prepare any music for the audition.

Directed by Creative Director Susan Budd, Young Voices is a community choir with public and private school students as well as home-schooled students in grades two through 12 who reside in and around Dearborn County. All singers are welcome from the Greater Cincinnati area.

The Spring Semester will consist of mandatory rehearsals on Monday evenings starting February 4 through early May, culminating with a performance in mid-May (date TBA).

Tuition is $80 per singer for the semester, which works out to about $5 per training session. Voices of Indiana is committed that every child be able to participate in Young Voices regardless of finances; limited funds are available for tuition assistance each semester.

All applications for tuition assistance must be received by Monday, Jan. 21. Families may download audition paperwork and tuition assistance applications at www.VoicesofIndiana.org.

Additional program funding is provided in part through private donations and corporate sponsorship.

Funding for Ohio County members for the 2012-2013 Season was received from the Ohio County Community Foundation.
