RICHMOND, Ind. - Going 2-2 in the Bob Wettig Memorial holiday tourney last Thursday through Saturday may not have generated excitement among East Central boys basketball fans. But EC coach David Disbro and company, who emerged with a 4-6 season mark, saw plenty of good reasons for their team's continued involvement with the 14-team, three-day hoops extravaganza. “You get to spend time together as a team, and you play a lot of basketball in three days,” said Disbro, whose team went 2-2 in the Wettig a year ago after reaching the 2011 title game, a 64-56 loss to the host Red Devils. “With so many games, you've got to play your bench,” Disbro continued. “You find out more about your depth. We've got a lot to work on.”To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
