HEBRON, Ky. - Five weight class champions led South Dearborn wrestling to a third-place finish at the Conner Cougar Classic Invitational meet Saturday, Jan. 5.

Coach George Gardner's varsity Knights finished third in the tough eight-team tournament behind winner Woodford County (Ky.) and host Conner, 193-171-166.

Scott County (Ky.) finished fourth (98.5), with Owensboro (Ky.) Apollo fifth (95). Union (Ky.) Cooper came in sixth (65.5), followed by Louisville St. Xavier jayvee team (65) and North Oldham (Ky.) (47).

All five Knights who advanced to the championship round came through with title victories, including seniors Jimmy Shaw at 160 pounds, Darrel Walker at 182,  Dustin Conety at 220 and heavyweight Sean Caddell.
