Two Moores Hill neighbors amicably discussed a complaint about one neighbor's camper Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Moores Hill Town Council meeting.

Council members promised to look into town ordinances related to the situation.

George Poole complained about a “trailer” parked at a residence next to his property and visible from the Moores Hill Veterans Park. The town has spent $100,000 to beautify the park, and he's spent $6,000 on his property adjoining the park, mowing and bush hogging.

“When I went over to my shop … and saw that trailer jacked up for a permanent residence, I said, 'I just don't think that's right.' … Is it legal?” he asked.

Ranae Kohlmeier, who owns the camper, clarified it is a camper, not a trailer. Her son, who is autistic, loves to camp, and the camper is being fixed up on the inside. She had to move suddenly due to a foreclosure, she added.
