ST. LEON – From early on Thursday night, there was little doubt East Central girls basketball was going to clinch its first outright conference championship since 1998. When coach Kevin Moore's varsity Lady Trojans dashed out to a 9-0 lead in the first four minutes against Franklin County – the perennial champion with which EC shared last year's title – the only question seemed if they would break 100 points. The 70-24 final score was somewhat anticlimactic, but good enough to lift the Trojans to 14-3 overall and 8-0 in Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference play, with two league games, and a third non-leaguer, left.To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
