Changes are coming for the City of Lawrenceburg after Lawrenceburg City Council reviewed additional appropriations budgets for riverboat casino generated revenue in the municipal development fund and riverboat budgets in a marathon four-hour work session Thursday, Jan. 17. Some of the changes also surfaced at the city’s meetings Tuesday, Jan. 22.
Council is slated to vote on the additional appropriations budgets 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28. The additional appropriations are needed because Mayor Dennis Carr vetoed the city’s budgets in October 2012.
All told, council cut about $10 million from the MDF and riverboat budgets in the special meeting Jan. 17. The MDF and riverboat allotments went from about $68 million to about $57 million.
Leading off the review were capital projects including street and park upgrades.
