AURORA – Having stood at 1-4 and 4-6 early this season, South Dearborn girls basketball had reason to celebrate after Thursday night's 54-42 revenge win over Lawrenceburg. Not only did coach Bob Bressert's Lady Knights (9-8) crest the .500 mark for the first time this season. They avenged an early 46-43 loss to the Tigers, and, in so doing, moved a game ahead of LHS and Greensburg (boty 4-5), into third place in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference standings at 4-4 with two league games left. “It's nice to finally be above .500,” Bressert said. “The only bad thing about it is those two one-point games we lost last week (54-53 to South Ripley and 40-39 to Greensburg Jan. 15 and 17). We'd have won eight in a row since the first of the year if we could have closed out those.” To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
