COLUMBUS, Ind. – East Central boys basketball gained a two-game road split, and, possibly, a little more respect along with it, last weekend. Now 7-8 overall, coach David Disbro’s varsity Trojans rallied in the second half for a seven-point loss at Class 4A sectional rival Columbus East (9-2) Friday night, 66-59. EC put together a 15-0 first-quarter run en route to a 64-46 runaway at North Decatur (3-11) Saturday. It wasn’t the perfect weekend, but Trojans will take it as a sign of their continued improvement. "We scored 19 points in transition in both games, which is something we've been trying to do more," said Disbro. "We're doing a pretty good job of getting the tempo up. Our zone has been bothering people and we've been challenging perimeter shots a lot better." To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
