1993 – The Bills lose Super Bowl XXVII, 52-17, to the Cowboys at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. Buffalo scores first on a two-yard TD run, but Dallas takes a 14-7 advantage by the end of the first quarter and is ahead 28-10 at halftime. Cowboys QB Troy Aikman is named MVP after completing 22 of 30 passes for 273 yards and four TDs. But Dallas defensive tackle Leon Lett provides the game's most memorable play. Late in the fourth quarter, Lett recoveres a fumble at the Dallas 45. As he nears the end zone, he slows and holds the ball out in premature celebration. Fast-closing Buffalo wide receiver Don Beebe swats it out of his hand. The ball rolls though the end zone for a touchback.

49ers tight end Vernon Davis, born 1984. Packers end Don Hutson, born 1913.
