Q:  Speedster Jacoby Jones of the Ravens opened the second half of Sunday's Super Bowl with a record-tying 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Baltimore's 41-39 win. With whom does he share the record?

A: Jones, who actually returned a 108-yarder once before, in 2012 vs. Dallas; joined Ellis Hobbs of the Patriots (2007) and Randall Cobb of the Packers (2011) as co-holders of the NFL kickoff return record.

1943 – A 3-1 underdog, Jake LaMotta hammers Sugar Ray Robinson for a victory at a sold-out Olympia Stadium in Detroit. Through six rounds, Hennessy's scorecard shows Robinson winning four rounds, LaMotta one and another called even. LaMotta takes the final four rounds with his superior punching power. It is Robinson's first defeat. He comes into the fight with a 129-0 record, 40 of them as a professional. Robinson and LaMotta will meet six times during their careers, the last in 1951. Robinson will win the other five fights. LaMotta will be immortalized when portrayed by Robert DeNiro in the 1980 Martin Scorcese-directed film Raging Bull.
