BATESVILLE – In a game that sometimes resembled a whistle-blowing contest, South Dearborn girls basketball overcame big deficits in both rebounding and free throw shooting to win, 49-46, Thursday night. Coach Bob Bressert's Lady Knights, who avenged a 35-28 Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference home loss to the Bulldogs back on Nov. 17, moved their regular season mark to 10-9 with one game remaining. With Saturday's regular season finale vs. Milan cancelled due to winter weather, South Dearborn now looks ahead to Wednesday's Class 3A Sectional 29 second-round matchup with No. 14-ranked defending champion Madison (16-4).
