Lawrenceburg City Council passed its additional appropriations budget ordinances for the riverboat and municipal development funds. The passage came after the budgets were vetoed in October by Mayor Dennis Carr.

The budgets balance income and expenditures, and it’s the first time Carr can recall the budgets balancing, he noted in a press release.

Councilwoman Jane Pope said by phone Tuesday, Feb. 5, all of city council and the mayor “worked as a team with both sets of financial advisors to get this done.”

There were two special meetings to hash out differences and make cuts, with passage of the ordinances coming Monday, Feb. 4.
