RUSHVILLE – Lawrenceburg girls basketball didn’t look the part of a 62-29 loser in Friday’s Class 3A sectional semifinal to homecourt favorite and No. 7-ranked Rushville.

While the host Lady Lions (20-3) went on to claim their 28th sectional title Saturday night over No. 14 Madison, 63-56, coach Bill Snyder’s Lady Tigers (9-12) could take solace in their surprising focus and composure despite Friday’s 33-point season-ending loss.

LHS senior guard Kennedi Willis nailed a trey from the right corner to give her team the surprise 3-0 lead to start. Rushville then set the tone for the night, rattling off the next 11 points to the 2:52 mark in the first period.
