Shinkle was arrested at 7:46 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, on a warrant issued with the charges. According to the probable cause affidavit filed by Aurora Police Officer T. J. Pendergast, Shinkle's blood alcohol tested .131 at the scene, and a blood test obtained by search warrant at 3:14 a.m. showed his blood had a BAC of .126 and contained 16.2 ng/ml of THC-COOH, a metabolite of THC, the substance in marijuana. An autopsy report on Martin stated he died of blunt force trauma to the head, and had sustained numerous fractures of the face, skull, basilar skull, and extrusion of brain matter through a forehead laceration, said Pendergast.
