INDIANAPOLIS – Lawrenceburg senior K.C. Hedger capped a 43-6 season with a first-round loss in the IHSAA wrestling state finals Friday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The fifth state meet qualifier in LHS wrestling history, 170-pound entry Hedger took a 19-8 major decision at the hands of eventual state runner-up Riley Lefever (49-2), a senior from Fort Wayne’s Carroll High.

As a fourth-place semistate qualifier a week earlier at New Castle, Hedger automatically drew a first-round matchup against a champion from a different semistate.
