COLUMBUS, Ind. – East Central sophomore Derek Roth placed second in the 100-yard butterfly event final in Saturday’s IHSAA boys swimming and diving sectional at Columbus North.

Roth, whose 52.85-second effort fell short of the state finals berth landed by winner Max Irwin of Bloomington South (49.18) helped coach Brandon Loveless’s AquaTrojans to a fourth-place team finish.
